3.   Because it is the ONLY Jewish Home for the Jewish aged in Western Canada

4.   Because we are trusted with caring for more than 36 Holocaust Survivors of our community

5.   Because We are Their Voice

6.   Because it says in our Torah! זקנה לעת תשליכני אל “Don’t abandon me in old age”

7.    Because there are many Jewish seniors in BC waiting for placement in long-term care

8.    Because the needs quadrupled in the last decade and will continue to implode

9.    Because government funding is not enough and does not fulfill our Jewish value system

10.   Because we need to secure not only a roof, but that they are physically, emotionally and spiritually cared for

11.    Because we are not recipients of the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver

12.   Because we understand it is a critical service to the Jewish community at large

13.   Because we have become the leaders and innovators in geriatric care in BC

14.   Because we can only count on our Jewish community to raise the funds needed for a Jewish Home

15.   Because we have to ensure it existence in perpetuity, we are concerned for the future of our Home

16.   Because those who have no other Home, have the Louis Brier 24/7

17.   Because we could have found another 18,000 more reasons why we do it…
