Sad News – Walter Sydney Stern z’l

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Walter Sydney Stern, brother of Temple Sholom member Gerald Stern.

Walter passed away on August 25, 2018 in Winnipeg, at the age of 93.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Melvin, Allan, Cyril and Layla, his first wife Doreen (Eaton), Zora (Ditlove) his second wife, and oldest son Keith.

Walter is survived by his brother, Gerald (Sheila) Stern, his loving children, Jo Ann, Lewis and wife Deb, and David and wife Marsha, his grandchildren, Kamala, Leyla, Sara, Max, Sawyer, Zev, Nathan and Jason, and many great-grandchildren that, while far away, connected with him often.

The funeral was held on August 27, 2018 in Winnipeg.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Gerald and Sheila Stern and Walter’s entire family and friends.
