Sad News – Ian Vellins z’l
It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Ian Vellins z”l, beloved father of Beth Israel member, Stephanie Vellins.
Our heartfelt condolences to his wife of 60 years, Selma Vellins, children, Wendy (Anthony), Joanne and Stephanie (Eli), and grandchildren, Zoe, Sasha, Ellie, Joel, Jules and Chiron.
The funeral will be held on Monday, April 8th at 2pm at the Beth Hamedrash Hagadol Cemetery in Leeds, England.
Shiva will be in Leeds and then London for the week following the funeral.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of my old friend and University companion Ian Vellins. We studied together at Wadham College Oxford, sharing early tutorials. I had a high opinion of Ian, which i can see was borne out by his achievements. Unfortunately, duet to the circumstances of life, I had little contact with Ian thereafter but recall at least one meeting in Leeds and also a fairly recent telephone conversation. Ian seemed quite unchanged from his earlier self! I am sorry not to have had more contact.
I would just like to pass on my deepest sympathy to Ian’s wife, Selma and to all his family
