Sad News – Serge Haber z’l
It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Beth Israel member, Serge Haber, Yisrael Ben Yehudah Aryeh Halevi z’l,
predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Elinor Ruth z’l.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his companion, Sheila Gordon, children: Wanda Haber-Kucharsky (Phil Kucharsky) of Toronto,
Rabbi Doctor Geoffrey Haber (Gilah Haber) of Thornhill, Stephen Haber (Terry Cohen) of Lynwood, WA. Grandchildren: Ariella and David Paris, Noam Haber, Leora Haber, Jesse Haber-Kucharsky and Daniella Postavsky. Zoe Haber-Kucharsky, Step Grandchildren: Shane Person, Tabata Person. Great Grandchildren: Tobais Person, Thomas Person, Oliver Paris, Arthur Kucharsky.
The funeral will be held on Monday, October 23rd at 11 am at the Beth Israel Cemetery (1721 Willingdon Avenue, Burnaby)
Due to the construction at Brentwood mall, parking has been severely impacted. Please allow yourself additional time to find parking on Graveley Street, Halifax Street and Brentlawn Drive. Our modest parking lot is reserved for immediate family and clergy only. Thank you for your understanding.
Shiva will be held on Monday October 23rd immediately following the funeral until 5 pm, Tuesday October 24th through Thursday October 26th from 10 am to noon and 2 pm to 5 pm in Vancouver.
Services at Beth Israel will be at 6 pm
The remainder of Shiva will be observed in Toronto.
