Sad News – Micheline Rostoker z’l

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Micheline Rostoker (née Kleinhandler), mother of Temple Sholom member Sylvie/Nini Rostoker on February 5, 2020 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 98.

Micheline was predeceased by husband Georges (2012) and son Alain (2019).

She is survived by sons, Jean-Francois/Mickey (Cathy) and Gerard/Jerry (Pam), daughter, Sylvie/Nini (Eric), and Alain’s wife, Chere; her grandchildren, Albert, Louis, Camilo (Lindsey), Diego, Gabriel (Amanda), Noah, and Talia; and her great-grandchildren, Aloe, Colton, Kaya, and Logan.

She was born and raised in Paris on February 26, 1921, where she later met her husband, Georges, two years her senior, when they were teenagers.

Micheline loved walking and hiking, and cooking French meals. Her French accent and charms became her trademarks. She had a good eye for fashion, architecture and design. She volunteered with the Cancer Society, driving patients to their appointments.

When Georges retired, they moved to an acreage in Saanichton, BC.

Burial and funeral services were held on February 9, 2020 in Calgary.
