It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Laura Berman Schertzer z”l, mother of Beth Israel members Stephen Schertzer and Robert Schertzer.

We send our heartfelt condolences to her children, Stephen (Ruth Wingerin) and Robert (Laura Rosenthal); grandchildren, Julia (Skyler), Adam, Leora, Dena (Roman) and Daniel Schertzer; great-grandson, Lev; and their entire family and friends.

The funeral will be held in Montreal today, Monday, May 4, 2026.

There will be a memorial service at Beth Israel on Tuesday May 12 at 6:00 pm.
