It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Temple Sholom member Sheila Smith z”l, on April 26, 2026.

We send our heartfelt condolences to her brother, Ronald (Rita) Singer; her children, Marcy (Steve) Babins, Joanne (Mitchell) Akman, and Beth Tikvah members Stacey (Brian) Szeplabi; her grandchildren, Erika & Nathan, Nathan, Elizabeth & Nicolai, Hannah & Daniel, Elliot, David, Jonathon & Zyra, and Colin, and so many nieces, nephews and cousins, and her entire family.

The funeral was held on Tuesday, April 28 at 11:00 am at the Temple Sholom Cemetery (14965 – 28th Ave., White Rock/South Surrey, BC).

Shiva will be held on Tuesday, April 28 and Wednesday, April 29 at 7:00 pm in Richmond BC.

Born in Montreal in 1935, Sheila and Lenny uprooted their lives and moved out to BC in the early 1990’s to follow their children, attesting to their devotion to family. Always working side by side their entire lives, while traveling, skiing, biking and working along the way, Sheila and Lenny demonstrated their devotion to each other and family at every level.  When their van arrived, they would shower family and friends with sweetness.
