Sad News – Harley Felstein z’l

It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Harley Felstein, first husband of Temple Sholom member Alexene Silver (John), died unexpectedly in the medical ICU at the Georgetown University Hospital on March 11, 2020.

The funeral was held at B’nai Israel synagogue in Rockville, MD on March 13, 2020.

Harley is survived by his wife, Carey Oler, his son, David Felstein and family (daughter-in-law, Erin, and grandsons, Damien and Wolfe), his son, Benjamin Felstein, and many cousins and friends.

His eldest son, Michael Felstein, died a year ago in March 2019.

As a Death Care professional, he is also mourned by many rabbis, cemetery administrators, funeral directors, and educators in the United States, Canada, England and Israel.

Harley was predeceased by his son Michael Felstein z’l.

The funeral was held in Washington, D.C.

It is the family’s intention to re inter Harley at the Schara Tzedeck Cemetery as soon as conditions permit
