Sad News – George Wertman z’l

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Schara Tzedeck member, George Wertman z’l.

George, a Holocaust survivor was almost 98 years old. He is fondly known as The Coat Hanger King, and was an inspiration for all that knew him.

Our heartfelt condolences to George’s wife, Frieda Wertman, his three children, Antoinette, Annette and Charles, and 8 grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 27th, at 2:00 P.M. at the Schara Tzedeck Cemetery in New Westminster. Shiva will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:15 PM in Vancouver.
