Sad News – Barbara Shirley Burkoz’l

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the death of Temple Sholom member Barbara (“Barbie”) Shirley Burko (nee Ziff) z’l, peacefully on March 16, 2021, after a long battle with COPD.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Phillips Michael Burko z”l.

We send our heartfelt condolences to her loving brother, Bernie & Mrs. Diane Ziff, her sons and daughters-in-law, Clifford Ross & Ms. Brooke Miller, Robert Barry & Ms. Karen Eileen McKibbin, Jeffrey Paul & Ms. Emma Holden-Hindley and her 6 grandchildren, Mitchell & Ms. Michelle, Jordyn, Meaghan & Ben, Max & Teya.

Barbara also leaves behind 2 great-grandchildren, Sydney & Madison, her daughters-in-law from previous marriages that she remained close with: Trudy Capell and Donna Yurkovich, nephews, Michael & Ms. Emily Holmes, Steven & Ms. Barbara Lando & Richard & Helene Bisnaire and their children, Ibi, Lilly & Sarah, Giselle & Neomi.

Barbie was well loved by her many friends and extended family leaves behind a world of loving memories.

The funeral was held on Thursday March 18, 2021, at 12:00 noon PT at the Temple Sholom Cemetery.

There will be no Shiva.
