Sad News – Aaron Bar z’l

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Aaron Bar z’l, father of Beth Israel member, Gali Bar, on 28 Kislev 5782 (December 2nd, 2021).

Aaron, a holocaust survivor, was born in Zagreb, Croatia, and spent his childhood hiding from the nazis in the forests of Yoguslavia. He made Aliyah in 1948 with his father Slavko (Shmuel), step-mother Stella, and brother Boris (Moshe), and spent his life living in Kibbutz Afikim in the Jordan Valley. Aaron loved life and was an avid athlete. His kindness, cheerfulness, and abundant generosity touched all who met him.

Aaron is survived by his wife of 62 years, Osnat, his daughters Liat, Shirley, Noa, and Gali, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, his brother, David and his step-mother Stella, and a large and heart-broken extended family.
The funeral and Shiva took place in the family’s home in Kibbutz Afikim.

Our heartfelt condolences go to his daughter, Gali (Barry) and his grandchildren,Gideon, Miriam, and Talia.
