It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Betty (Bertha) Nussbaumer (nee Lipton nee Stein) z”l, mother of Temple Sholom member Ruth Lipton, on April 20, 2026 in Calgary, Alberta.

Betty was predeceased by her mother, Clara Eshanu; father, Louis Stein; husbands, Alexander Lipton and Edward Ralph Nussbaumer; daughter in-law, LaDonna Smith; and her son in-law, Richard Gilsig z”l.

We send our hearfelt condolences to her daughters, Ruth Lipton and My Lipton (Clare Edington); sons, Mark Lipton and Matthew Lipton; granddaughters, Heather Muir and Kathleen Cashin; and her entire family and friends.

The funeral service will be held in Calgary.
