Sad News – Hedy Balin z’l

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the death of Hedy Balin, mother of Temple Sholom member Jeffrey Balin (Jennifer Shecter), grandmother of Kai, Justine, and Jackson Balin.

Born in Hungary, Hedy Balin escaped the Nazis and fled to Israel, arriving on the boat “Exodus.” She served in the IDF, and fought in Israel’s War of Independence.

The family will gather in Vancouver for Shiva on Wednesday, March 8th with a minyan service at 7pm at the home of Jeff Balin and Jennifer Shecter in Vancouver.
