Election Day is Saturday October 20, 2018.
You may vote in advance of Election Day from October 10 to 17, at any of the following 12 locations from 8am-8pm.
In my last 10 years of active election political campaign involvement in Eastern Canada through three Federal Elections and four Provincial elections I have never known of an Election Day to be mandated to take place on a Saturday the Jewish Sabbath.  But that is the current state of the law in the Province of British Columbia and the City of Vancouver under the Provincial election laws pertaining to the City of Vancouver and other municipalities in B.C. In my personal view mandating a Saturday Election Day is a diminishment of the civil rights of Jews in Canada.  I applaud the efforts of C.I.J.A. and others  whom I understand are lobbying the Government of B.C. change these laws. In my view our civil rights as Jews in Canada are Sacred as is our Shabbat, regardless of the manner any individual Jew decides to observe or honour their Sabbath.  If you are Jewish and support my campaign I encourage you to vote not on Election Day, but on the Advance Voting Days.  If you are Jewish and are compelled by your circumstances or otherwise choose to vote on Election Day, which takes place on and you do indeed support my campaign, I would ask that you show that support by not voting for me, if you must vote on Shabbat.  The sole narrow exception being unless you have time to leave your home at the conclusion of Shabbat at … and are able to attend to vote at the Polls before their close at 8pm.
