Sad News – William Geoffrey Donawa z’l

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Geoffrey Donawa who passed away on February 12, 2020, at the age of 88 in Burnaby.

Born in Trinidad-Tobago, Bill later obtained his Degree in Agriculture from the University of British Columbia, followed by Veterinary School in Guelph, Ontario. Bill and his first wife, Margaret Wendy Love, then moved to Barbados where Bill, the first black veterinarian in Barbados, operated his clinic for 25 years.

Upon retirement, Bill settled in Victoria, BC. At the age of 70, he met and married Roslyn Kushner Belle and moved to Vancouver.

We send our heartfelt condolences to Bill’s family – his sons, Christopher and Jacob, grandson, Amari, his widow Roslyn and family: Lindsay, Jordan, Connor; Bo Ellen: Rob, Nancy, Danielle, and Josh.

If you wish to make a donation in Bill’s memory, the family suggests The Family Council, the Louis Brier Home and Hospital, the JCC of Greater Vancouver, or the “Power Moves” Parkinson’s program.
