It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Ovadia Ben-Nissim (Ovadia ben Nissim) z”l, father of Beth Hamidrash member Orna Salem, on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 in Vancouver.

 

We send our heartfelt condolences to his wife Carmela Ben-Nissim, daughter Orna (Shimon z”l) Salem, daughter Drora (Daniel) Haleva in Israel, daughter Nava Rozen, and son Ran Natan-Tzvi, as well to his granddaughter Shira (Gilad) Reddin and great-grandchildren Liam and Eli, granddaughter Ayla Salem, granddaughter Danit Haleva, grandson

Asaf (Orit) Haleva, great-grandchildren Noga, Allon and Edor, grandsons Noahm Rozen and Ma’aor Rozen, and to his brother Menachem (Miriam) Nissim in Israel, and other extended family.

 

The funeral was held on Thursday July 10 at 2:00 pm at Schara Tzedeck Cemetery in New Westminster (2345 Marine Drive).

 

Shiva was held on July 10 at the Louis Brier and on Sunday July 13, and Monday July 14 and Tuesday July 15 at 7:00 pm at Beth Hamidrash on 3231 Heather Street
