Sad News – Kurt Taussig z’l

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Kurt Taussig z’l, uncle of Temple Sholom member and Cantorial Soloist Naomi Taussig, on September 18, 2019 in London, England at the age of 96.

As a Czech Jewish child, Kurt and his younger brother, Karl Taussig, father of Naomi, escaped from Czechoslovakia to Britain on one of the famed Kindertransport trains organised by Sir Nicholas Winton ahead of WWII. He later went on to become a pilot with a Czechoslovak unit under RAF command.

We send our heartfelt condolences to Kurt’s wife, Anne, his son, Richard (Liz), his grandson, Matthew, his nieces in Canada, Naomi Taussig (Keith Nusgart) and Abigail Brown, his nephew, David Taussig, as well as his nieces in England.
