Sad News – Genevieve Brandt z’l

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Genevieve Brandt, mother of Beth ISrael member Marcus Brandt (Erin).

Genevieve passed peacefully after a short illness on March 9th (29 Adar 5784) in Victoria.

Genevieve is survived by her loving husband Eli, mother Margit Blackman, siblings Caroline Hergt (Martin), Kevin Blackman and Andrew Blackman (Lesley), and children Gordon, Reuven (Kerry), Marcus (Erin) and Joshua. Genevieve also leaves behind four grandchildren Murdo, Naomi, Joseph and Raphael, and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Genevieve leaves an indelible mark on the Jewish community in Victoria and on her entire family.

A memorial will be held at Sands Memorial Chapel in Victoria BC on Thursday, March 14th at 1pm.

Shiva in Vancouver will be held at the home of Marcus and Erin Brandt, Sunday March 17th, Monday March 18th and Tuesday March 19th at 7:30pm.
