It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Bernard Ghert z”l, brother of Beth Israel member, Marlene (Norman) Franks on May 4, in Toronto.

Bernie is survived by his children Renee (Joel) Ghert-Zand of Israel; Michelle (Philippe Rousseau) Ghert of Oakville and Michael (Sarah Rosenfeld) Ghert of Calgary. As well, he will be missed by his grandchildren Amitai, Hillel (Ilana) and Ezra Zand, Talya and Yael Ghert, and Sebastien and Nicolas Rousseau. Bernie will also be remembered by Aaron (Deborah Epstein) and Naomi Franks and Sarah (Tony) Dyck.

The funeral and shiva were held in Toronto.
