Needed:  Sponsors for three World Vision young girls

Needed:  Sponsors for three World Vision young girls:

  1. Sitemia, a 16 year old girl from the highlands of Ethiopia;
  2. Esther, a 15 year old girl from Rwanda;
  3. Emily, a 16 year old girl from Colombia.

           The situation is that a close friend has been sponsoring eight World Vision children but unfortunately is ill and unable to continue the sponsorships.  She cares very much for all these children and has built a            special relationship with them over some years.  It means a lot to her to know that these children will be sponsored by people who will take time to write them several times a year (email is fine through the  World Vision website) and also occasionally send them small, thoughtful gifts through the mail.

            I have found sponsors (me included) for five of  my friend’s World Vision children and need to find  sponsors for the three who are yet “unspoken for.”  A sponsorship costs $500 Canadian per year and may be shared by two friends or a family unit.  I plan to have “World Vision” parties at my home several times a year where sponsors can get together to share correspondence from their child, pack small gifts to them that I will mail, and generally have a fun social time supporting each other and our WV kids.  And yes, there will be GREAT SNACKS!

            If WV sponsorship is an idea you’d like to explore, contact me at mcolsenfamily@shaw.ca for more information about World Vision as an organization, the three young girls and their families, their          countries, their villages, their interests, etc. No pressure here –  no commitment needed at this stage – if you think WV sponsorships might interest you, feel free to send me an email.

            Thanks,  Heather Kulyk McDonald”
