Help fill up the Jewish Food Bank – the need continues to grow

Help fill our pantry. The need continues to grow. “I am thankful to the Jewish Food Bank because I get fresh, healthy, good-quality food that lasts for over a week. Every time I walk into the food bank, I see appreciation and respect.” – Charlie

Project Isaiah is back! This annual community food drive is vital in filling up the JFS food bank with healthy pantry items to support those in need.

This year our numbers continue to increase. We are now serving over 450 people EVERY week through the food bank, with a total of 950 clients.  We currently need at least 4,500 pounds of food a week to ensure all those who turn to us remain food secure in the year ahead.
Nourishing proteins like nut butters, canned fish, lentils, kasha and beans are especially needed.

Here’s how to participate:

  • Pick up your Project Bags at participating synagogues and schools – September 7-17
  • Fill your bags with nourishing pantry items, especially proteins like nut butters, canned fish and beans
  • Drop off your bag at any participating location before September 17

We will also be accepting food donations at JFS’ The Kitchen (54 East 3rd Avenue, Vancouver)throughout September
ORyou can donate online and we’ll do the shopping for you.
