It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Ruth Wolochow z”l (neé Gurland), Oct 27, 1927 – March 13, 2026.

Mother of Schara Tzedeck member Eve Camerman.

 

Ruth is predeceased by her dear husband of 64 years, Dr Manley (Bud) Wolochow, sisters Fran O’Leary, Mona Allister, and brother Jack Gurland, and daughter Dr Shelley Wolochow tragically murdered in a terrorist attack in Israel July 6, 1989.

 

We send our heartfelt condolences to her daughters Eve Camerman (Arthur Camerman z”l), Janice Wolochow (Howard Honickman) and son Peter Wolochow (Joanne Kahn), granddaughters Maayan Zilberman (Alex Burns), Jessica McDonald, Jennifer Wolochow (Diego Ongaro) and Robyn Gordon (Tyler Gordon) and great granddaughters Vivienne “Freddie” Burns, and Hadley and Winslow Gordon.

 

The funeral will take place on Monday, March 16 at 2:15 PM at Beth Israel Cemetery (1711 Willingdon Ave, Burnaby, BC V5C 5J2).

 

A Seudat Havra’ah (Meal of Consolation) will follow at Beth Israel Synagogue (989 W 28th Ave, Vancouver, BC).

 

Shiva will be observed at the synagogue during the Mincha/Maariv service at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 16.
