Sad News – Ruth Mehler z’l

With sorrow, I am writing to inform you that our friend Audrey Mehler has lost her mother Ruth Mehler (née Landowicz), Rachel bat Yitzchak v’Esther. Born in Łódź, Poland in 1924, and a Holocaust survivor, Ruth died on December 25, in Los Angeles, where she has resided for the last 72 years. She lived her life with grace, elegance, dignity and integrity.

May Ruth Mehler’s memory be for a blessing – yehe zichra baruch. Audrey and her husband David Paperny are joined in their mourning by Audrey’s sister Estelle Fisher and her brother Howard Mehler.

Ruth will also be missed by her grandchildren David and Aly Fisher, Anna Mehler Paperny, Daniel and Lindsay Paperny, Mara Fisher, Andrew Fisher, and Juliet Paperny, and by her great grandchildren Hazel and Ivy Fisher and Zoe and Emma Paperny, whom she loved and upon whose lives she had a great impact. I know that you will reach out to Audrey and her family in spiritual friendship. 

Hamakom yenachem etchem b’toch shaar avlei Tzion v’Yerushalayim – may our mourners be comforted together with the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
