With sorrow, I inform you of the death of Kay Levey, grandmother of Or Shalom member Sydney Gelfer Wosk. Kay died on Shabbat, June 6. The family is relieved that she is at peace

 

Kay is predeceased by her husband Gerald Levey z”l and a grandson, Joshua Bookhalter. She is survived by her step-daughters Robin Gelfer (Jeff), Margo Levey and Marcia de Mesquita (Brent), grandchildren Erica Karasov (Aaron), Sydney Gelfer Wosk (Daniel), Jonathan Gelfer, Morgan Hampel, Eli Bookhalter and Paige Gelfer. Kay’s great grandchildren are Asher and Noa Karasov and newly born Evan Wosk, whom she was able to meet last week.

 

Also mourning Kay are her brothers and sister Richard Henriquez (Carol), Derek Henriques (Reva), Andrea Lyons (Robert), Peter Henriques (Judi) and many nieces and nephews.

 

Kay is laid to rest in the Beth Israel Cemetery.

 

Shiva was held on Wednesday, July 10 at 7pm at the home of Sydney’s parents, Jeff and Robin Gelfer in Richmond, BC.

 

Hamakom yenachem etchem b’toch shaar avlei Tzion v’Yerushalayim – may our mourners be comforted together with the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
