Sad News – Friedah Segal z’l

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Friedah Segal z”l, mother of Beth Israel member Ramona Josephson on May 12, 2023, at 96 years of age. Friedah was predeceased by her husband Lou Segal z”l. She passed on Lou’s birthday, May 12th.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to her children: Basil Segal (Robyn), Ramona Josephson (Ken Karasick), Darryl Segal and Janine Chenkis (Boris); her grand-children Jaclyn Dayson (James), Marc Josephson (Jenna), Bradley Chenkis (Erica), Gavin Chenkis, Kyle Segal (Michal), Cory Segal (Ariela), Shay Segal, Jonathan, Daniel, Adam and Benjamin Segal and her great grand-children: Taylor, Brayden and Emma Dayson, Ethan and Ayla Josephson, Liam and Miri Segal, and Jonah and Tali Chenkis.

In honoring Friedah’s wishes, a private family funeral service will be held at the Beth Tikvah Cemetery on May 15th

One public shiva will be held at 7:00pm on Monday May 15th at Beth Tikvah Synagogue, Richmond.

Friedah leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and an unquenchable spirit that will continue to inspire her family.
