It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Arlein Chetner z”l, mother of Temple Sholom member Esther Chetner, on March 28, 2025, at the age of 92.

Arlein was predeceased by her parents Rose (née Lein) and Joseph Hoffman, her beloved husband of almost 57 years Dov Chetner, and her cherished grandson Elan.

We send our heartfelt condolences to her four children: Cindy (Yossi Suissa), Esther (John Cooper), Rob (Kerri), and Judy; and to her grandchildren: Josh, Zoe, Danny, Noam, Max and Lola. She is also survived by her older sister Betty Morris and her younger brother Leon Hoffman, and many dear close cousins, nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

The funeral will take place on Monday, March 31 at 11:00 am at Beth Tzedec in Calgary.
