Sad News – Anita Lee Cohen z’l

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anita Lee Cohen z”l (née Galpern), mother of Schara Tzedeck member Marshall Stern, on October 9, 2022 in Winnipeg.

Anita was deceased by her parents, Dorothy and Sam Galpern z”l, sister Sondra Rothberg z”l, husband Myer Cohen z”l and daughter Debi Stern z”l.

Anita is survived by her children, Jeff Stern (Cheryl) of Winnipeg and Marshall Stern (Mireille) of Vancouver, son-in-law, Richard Chernick of Winnipeg, grandchildren, Zachary, Thea and Samara of Winnipeg and Jordana Stern and Joshua Stern of Vancouver, along with her great-grandson, Kieran of Winnipeg.

The funeral was held at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery on October 12, 2022. Pallbearers were Zachary Chernick, Richard Chernick, Joshua Stern, David Stern, Lewis Stern and Max Stern. Honourary pallbearers were Dick Rothberg and Danny Rothberg.
