Rio Olympics Boosts Surveillance With Hebrew U Developed Technology – Briefcam

Only 2 weeks away Rio is heightening its surveillance technology with Hebrew University developed BriefCam.

BriefCam: It’s not a time-lapse gimmick – it’s more like a search engine for video.  Its award-winning Video Synopsis® technology enables rapid video review. On average, one hour of video can be “synopsized” down to one minute of review time.

The technology was developed by Hebrew U Prof. Shmuel Peleg. You can designate items to look though over a period of time in a video, and the software will pick out anomalies and places time codes over the items.

CNN aired a report yesterday highlighting Briefcam and spoke to Dror Irani, CEO, about what they trying to achieve and the implementation in Rio.
