Col. (Ret.) Jonathan Conricus\, Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies\, who will share his insights during a moderated conversation with Pat Johnson\, Writer & Ally. As a globally recognized voice on Israel and geopolitics\, Jonathan Conricus is known for delivering clear\, insightful perspectives on one of the world’s most complex regions. \nThis year’s Negev will support the construction of the Beit Elkana Centre for Holistic Therapy – a contemporary healing space in the Lachish region of southern Israel with clinical therapy and treatment rooms\, a therapeutic pool\, multipurpose studio space\, community cafe\, and administrative and staff facilities. SUMMARY:Israel Up-Close: Community Mission to Israel July 2026
DESCRIPTION:Rabbi Dan Moskovitz from Temple Sholom is leading a community mission to Israel July 12-20\, 2026 –\njoin him for this life changing experience.\nVisit Jerusalem\, Masada\, float in the Dead Sea\, and tour the North (our Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver partner region)\, with special attention to the communities up there that were hardest hit by the war. \n  \nBare witness at the site of the Nova Music Festival massacre\, tour one of the kibbutzim attacked on October 7th\, and visit with survivors. \nDialogue with Israelis of all types\, religions and political persuasions. Seeing Israel through their eyes and engaging in meaningful conversations. \nWe will be joined separately by scholars Haviv Rettig Gur and Yossi Klein Halevi \, who will provide insight\, context and perspective. \nWe’ll have Shabbat dinner with Israeli families for more intimate conversations and real experiences \nWe’ll volunteer and help rebuild from the devastating effects of these past two years and we will taste the finest foods\, wines and hummus the country has to offer. \n  \nDetails are available HERE  \nPut down your deposit today to save your spot – we expect to sell out quickly. \n  \nDeposit of $500 USD per person due by April 12\, 2026* \nClick the “Registration Open” link at the bottom right side of the page. \n*Deposit required\, only refundable if the aforementioned group minimum is not met. \n  \nDETAILS: \n\nThe current land-only price of the 9 day mission is $3750 USD for double occupancy.\n\n\nWe are anticipating that this price will be reduced with an option subsidy from the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver. Details on that subsidy\, the amount\, and process will be available in the New Year.\n\n\nParticipants are encouraged to arrive early or extend their visit – our tour company J2 can help with those arrangements.\n\n\nThe cost of air travel is not included in the price. Neil Chark of Uniglobe Travel can help with your air travel arrangements.\n\n\nThis trip is designed for those that have been wanting to return to Israel\, to bare witness after October 7th\, and for those who have never been to Israel before.\n\n\nThis is an adult-oriented trip – mature teens and above are more than welcome.\n\n\nYou do not need to be a Temple Sholom member or Jewish to attend.\n\n\nThe linked itinerary is tentative and subject to change.\n\n\nOrientation and group-building meetings will be held in the months prior to our departure.\n\n\nIf the trip fails to meet the 20 person minimum\, your deposit will be fully refunded.
