ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

The JSA is growing in membership, leadership and its capacity to successfully plan, fund and facilitate the delivery of programs and services important to Jewish Seniors and their families.

The JSA sees itself as only one of the voices of the Jewish Seniors Community, albeit an important one, and therefore strives to work and cooperate with all agencies and parties having a stake in matters affecting Jewish Seniors in the Lower Mainland. The JSA has 500 individual and institutional members.

FUNDING

The JSA funds its office and programs from membership dues, grant applications and has received program funding from:

The Province of British Columbia.
The Government of Canada’s New Horizon for Seniors Program
Diamond Foundation; Phyllis & Irving Snider Foundation; Dayson Foundation; Oasis Foundation: Jack Kowarsky and the Lohn Foundation; Zalkow Foundation
Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver
Robert and Ralph Markin, Mordehai Wosk
We also receive donations from corporate
and private donors.

Although the organization is largely voluntary, there are staff, facility and third-party expenses associated with running the office, which spearheads fundraising –– organizing and serving the membership, disseminating information, finding and allocating volunteers and resources for JSA programs.
